Description

Following this activity, the participant will be able to:
    1.  Describe diagnosis, treatment, and assessment of compliance in the diabetic patient with an injury.
    2.  Identify which types of industrial injuries pose increased outcome risk for diabetic patients.  
    3.  Describe methods to diligently monitor a diabetic injured worker with a wound.
    4.  Improve decision-making regarding when diabetics should be referred for speciality care

Objectives

The purpose of this didactic is to provide an overview of diabetes, diagnosis, treatment, and complications as it pertains to the injured worker with a wound or injury.
